Biography
Erwin is an underwriter and member of the EMEA team. He underwrites warranty and indemnity insurance, specifically focussed on Benelux M&A transactions.
Erwin studied at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, where he obtained his masters in civil notarial law and tax law in 2006. Thereafter, he worked as a lecturer and PhD fellow at Utrecht University. Furthermore, he worked 13 years as an adviser and deputy civil law notary at Loyens & Loeff, one of the leading law firms in the Netherlands. Before joining the Liberty GTS team in 2022, Erwin worked as a counsel at HVK Stevens, a boutique law firm.
He has extensive experience advising on and implementing M&A transactions, including pre- and post-closing restructuring, finance transactions, IPO’s and matters of corporate private international law.
Erwin obtained a Ph.D. in corporate law on cross-border divisions of companies with limited liability and gives lectures on corporate law on a regular basis.
